Ciao Tutti!!! I had the amazing opportunity to check an item off my bucket list this fall by going to the city of Lecce, Italy in the Salento Peninsula and taking a week long culinary class at the Awaiting Table Cookery School (https://awaitingtable.com).
I am proud of my Italian heritage and fascinated by what is known as “Cucina Povera”…”poor cooking” and how the people of the “Mezzogiorno” turned these ingredients into fine dining.
This five day course taught me the basics of the typical Lecce Cuisine. One that uses fresh ingredients, simple recipes to produce flavorful, nutritious meals along with a fair sampling of wine and amaro!
Over the course of the next year, I will be picking different recipes that I made and will prepare them for our YouTube Channel. I hope your hungry!!
