The Campanile did not collapse in 902, but rather in 1902! It fortunately did not hit much of the library, so did not cause much damage, and could be rebuilt swiftly.

A few years ago I spent 4 days there on our trip to Italy. Everyone told me how insane we were, how crowded it was, how touristy it was – they couldnt have been more wrong. It takes half an ounce of effort to find quiet spots in the city and I always say its like vacationing on a movie set, its that beautiful. Going back next year and taking 5 days this time around
