The Wonder of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world. We had the pleasure of cruising with the mega-ship in September of 2022 around the Mediterranean and while in Naples, Italy, we went on an underground tour. That evening, we checked out the Main Dining Room (included in the price of the cruise) and were OK with the food, but the service was an absolute disaster. We had to leave without finishing our meal!

That’s a bummer about your dinner experience. Hopefully RCL gets to be fully staffed. Watching this made me remember the video you did about why you don’t like the main dining room. When I saw the title I was like ‘ohhh no! He knows better than to go there ‘ lol
We have enjoyed wonderful meals off the ship in Europe. Somehow we manage to limp along with the language, of course we don't have the no meat to worry about LOL, but we have always enjoyed and discovered some wonderful food.
Is it still warm in the med in December it's -9 in Belgium…. we had similar issues on Brilliance of the seas.
You are so right. Princess, Alaska cruise this past Aug was horrid service. One guy serving us doing everything. I think my wine came after I finished my main. And again, yes, they were doing as best as they could, but for the price of cruising now, certainly not like the "good old days".
Hey Morgan, the underground Naples tour looks cool. Sorry about your dinning in MDR experience and that the staff was over worked. On a better note I got your book delivered yesterday and cannot wait to read it. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
If I'm ever stuck on a desert island, I want cheese and crackers no matter what else. Naples underground sounds interesting. Thanks for telling me about it.
Oh that Naples tour looked so cool! Wish I had known about it when I went year's ago, we had a horrid tour that was so touristy and overpriced.
We just saw the wonder of the seas leaving Port Canaveral while having a picnic at the park. The only things I could think was "This ship is massive" and "I hope morgan had a great time on it". Great to watch your videos every week!
One of the things I have learned, buy your tickets online, in advance
On the Wonder right now. Still look a little short-staffed, but our service has been wonderful.
Why can't people learn to properly pronounce Caribbean?? It's pronounced like in the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean". Not like the cruise line Royal "Caribbean".
Try Oceania if you really want great food. Wine waiter: (Sommelier) Do try to upscale yourself!
Hi can you ride scooters on a cruise 🛴🐦?
Who are you? Your programing with your room a mess! Your in a T shirt! Your one of the reasons not to cruise.
I received your book yesterday!! Taking it with me to read on my cruise leaving in 13 days! 🙂
We had a similar experience on Symphony of the Seas this past spring. The MDR was madness, chaotic and the food was horrible. The buffet was much better. And a note on Napoli, until Italian unification the city was a jewel. It’s wealth was exploited to fund the expanding industrialization of the north. It sadly has never recovered.
I've cruised Royal since 2005 and I 've only had a waiter, ass't waiter, and head waiter. They used to have bar service come around for drink orders but now the ass't waiter fills your water glass, gets your bread, and takes/delivers your bar drinks. The waiter takes your order and delivers your food, the head waiter helps if he's really a nice guy.
😂we’re not sinking
We were on Wonder in April 2021 and had excellent service!
Hm, that tells me more and more that I don't want to be on that huge ship.
All that hype makes even more people book this… Not us.
We don't need those attractions either.
Just the pure mass of people is too much.
I let everybody enjoy that kind of vacation who wishes to do so – we stay on the smaller older ships.
Same service on MDR Celebrity. Ahhh what happened to the good old days? We get it, they are all playing catch up on their bills.😏
How could you dine at costal kitchen when you were at a balcony room? Vblogger privilege?
We just got back from our 9 days RC Radiance of the Sea Cruise. Your description of the main dining room service was exactly the same as ours. Great waiter & assistant service, but they were way understaffed and did all service themselves. Enjoy your updates!
On the Oasis right now. Dinning Room service is terrible. Very understaffed. Drinks aren't coming before food. Plates aren't getting taken away. You can tell the pleasure isn't there like it normally is. Servers don't have time to chat and look friendly like normal. Was on Oasis this time last year and it was the best.
Some areas globally are having a COVID resurgence along with high case counts for flu (which seems to be particularly bad) and RSV. Cruise ships get people from all over so the odds of some ships' crews also going through it are pretty good. I've heard some people say that cruise ships are still having a hard time finding enough crew to be fully staffed so losing some temporarily to illness is going to stand out.
I'm so glad you posted this video – I'm going to Naples next year on a few ships, and was wondering what to do there. My first ever solo trip was train travel around Italy, and I really wasn't enamoured by the city. I'm excited to visit now – that underground tour looks ace!
Wow thats along wait for your Meal indeed sounds like short of staff I read somewhere else that their tables were not cleared , food was late .
Its a Shame lets hope they Get more staff 🤔 sort some of the problems out .
I got your Book last week , looking forward over Christmas to start reading it 😜
Have a Good weekend 🥰
My daughters second sister from another mother best friend is moving to Naples with her Navy hubby so we will be there a lot in the next four years. Can’t wait.
Symphony of the Seas in April main dining room and room service was awful food was cold and tasteless looked like they had a lot of staff but they looked confused
Love ya. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Morgan, do you also plan to cruise with the Norwegian Prima?
Now I want go to Naples even more 😩.
I just don't get the hype about Italy. Italian food is not that great it's unhealthy and full of fat.
My copy of your book arrived last week. It's making for great bathroom reading!😁
Maybe this is why they are trying a new menu on Symphony
what it is up with the rush for dinner, take your time eating
I sailed on the Allure back in May, and had a terrible experience in the main dining room. We did my time dining and experienced a line a mile long and terrible service. I have been loyal to Royal but I’m beginning to question my cruise choices.
Another fem hoy .. why are so many men queer these days
Hey Morgan, I wonder if the reason the new Icon of the Seas will have an Indoor Water show is because of the weather conditions and they having to cancel so many shows because of it.
Go on a real vacation!
Please please please get over yourselves people and get a grip!! Most ppl these days will never be able to afford a cruise, millions wondering where their next meal will come from, and you are complaining about nuances about your filet mignon dinner, etc on a cruise. Be grateful that you can even afford to go on one, as well as for the 100's off dinner staff who bust their butts non stop for all you spoiled, ungrateful, entitled folks!
There's staffing issues everywhere. Cruises aren't going to be immune after 2 years of basically zero revenue. We can expect bumpy times but just need to roll with it for a while and basically adjust expectations.
Food on Radiance of the Seas was really hit and miss back in May 2022. It was either super good or inedible. Timing was super slow. Often it took 3 hours to do dinner. The staff did their best, but I agree, they have WAY too many tables
