Today we explore the amazing dishes that are eaten around the world in other cultures. Jamie and Baz will review each and then try to guess where in the world they are from.

When I read that you were reviewing Christmas dinners I was really hoping Venezuela made the list. It's Christmas dinner is what I look forward to every year, hallacas plus pan de jamón, pernil and ensalada de gallina😍😍
Yay, Finland!
I need to see a video trying Christmas sweets and desserts from around the world, I think it'd be great!
So happy to finally see a Venezuelan dish on the channel! Been waiting for it to happen in one of your new segments and it did! Hallacas are such a delicious meal and can be prep in sooooo many ways🇻🇪
Hello from Ottawa,
Jamie, we have a really accessible Tourtiere recipe from my husband's french Canadian aunt, if you're interested. Only thing is that it makes 10-12 8" pies 😛
Happy to share!
Took me all of two seconds…..tourtiere……and I haven't lived in Quebec for twenty years…for all their world travelling….lol
Thanks for finally featuring Canada!
So close Jamie. 🙂
Me, at the first dish: huh, looks like tourtière.
Ben: mentions ketchup
Me: 100% tourtière then.
As a finn, I think lanttulaatikko was a nice addition, but the ham looked completely wrong and I've never heard of kale in the christmas table.
I don’t know why I always watch your episodes. I am full watching it, but I end this show hungry with my mouth watering. Bastards…
Merry Christmas
Well as an Italian from the North, I guessed the last dish was from Spain 🤣🤣 we eat nothing like that at Christmas
Easily guessed #1 & #4. I live in Rochester, NY, USA; a city with a large Italian population, so I'm familiar w/the Feast of the Seven Fishes. And have had "Montreal Meat Pie," from both a local butcher shop and a bakery that specializes in pot pies. Glad to learn about the other two.
Would be nice to see same treatment for Hanukah dishes, as there would be some interesting ones from European countries, as well as Israel, & the USA (Argentina has a larger pop than Russia, who knew?).
France is about 15 miles from Canada. Recount!
Jamie is technically closer on the tourtiere as the islands of St Pierre and Miquelon are part of France but just off the coast of Newfoundland.
nice try: no mirepoix in tourtière. never. ever. potatoes are optionnal.
WE FINALLY MADE IT! Canada has come to SORTED FOOD (and not in that horrific layered thing that had poutine in it xD ) Love you guys!
I was half hoping they'd lift their blindfolds and just see a bucket of KFC sitting there.
I love how confident Jamie was with his Netherlands choice, but honestly we don't have a dish specifically for Christmas. Most families here do something called "gourmetten" which is basically just throwing tiny pieces of meat on a hotplate (teppanyaki plate works, but we do have devices especially made for it with little pans underneath) and waiting for them to be done :')
I personally absolutely hate it because it smells bad and stinks up your clothes, but we're practical people and don't want to waste time in the kitchen when we can let our guests do their own cooking apparently :') I usually avoid it whenever I can.
I was so excited to see my Christmas food in this video!!! Thank you so much for including Hallacas and learning about our culture, I always get excited when you guys try something new and I’m always hoping is something close to my heart! Love your videos and I hope soon you get to try more of Venezuela ♥️
Wait a minute! Jamie should've had the point!
French borders are as close Quebec as Saint Martin and French Guiana (French overseas territories that are technically an integral part of the French Republic). Ireland's WAY further by comparison.
The feast of the seven fishes is not an Italian tadition – it is an Italian-American tradition that followed the vigil of Christmas eve, where people would abstain from meat/fat. It only expanded to be the feast as shown after Italian migrated to America. Simply, it's about as Italian as Spaghetti and Meatballs – there's links and inspiration, but they are their own beasts. So, Baz should really win, Spain is a smidge closer geographically.
Omg the last meal looked absolutely stunning. Well done Kush 👌
My guess for the 4th was the US. When Ebbers said, "lots of Italian Americans" brought this feast to the US, it all made sense! My grandfather was 💯 Sicilian, therefore my guessing American is right in my world. 😍🎄
Tourtiere is best with Ketchup.
So just a little Geography Fact here France has a little Island called Sankt Pierre und Miquelon right at the Canadian Coast.
So Jamie was VERY close actually xD
If you count St. Pierre and Miquelon as a part of France, Jamie was closer for the Canada guess
I am Canadian. A Finish friend gave us the rutabaga dish. We have eaten it for years and love it. She said, lots of butter, lots of maple syrup. Wonderful!
I'm from Venezuela and I LOVE our Christmas dish, which together has hallaca, ham bread, chicken salad and roast pork leg. However, the South Italian dishes, OMG I would eat it soooo HAPPY.
💜💜💜
Barry going "looks quite daunting"… As a guy who volunteered to make Colombian tamales, you have no idea my friend…
So happy to see a tourtiere! I have one in the oven right now, for Christmas Eve supper!
