We are driving the 23 hour trip in February. My husband just prefers to drive. That way our flight doesn't get cancelled on us again, leaving us scrambling last minute.
I sure hope when I go in Oct. it's less crowded.
We tried to über from the parks one year and it seemed like if it were 30 minutes before the park closed, drivers would cancel on you multiple times. That want that surge pricing, and are willing to wait for it.
You should change it to Disney food and travel blog
Just booked flights a couple weeks ago 🙂 Have to come from the west coast, so driving is not viable for the entire fam.
Totally got a ton of deals by using DVC points, other timeshare points, Disney Visa, and other things.
I live in Ohio and always drive🤷♀️
I can drive from Portland Oregon to LA Far cheaper than I can fly. Trans to airport, bag fees, TSA cramped seats I am 6:6, plus when i get there no airport transfer fees ect. Yes I pay for parking but if i want to go somewhere not having to worry about a rental car is great. Total drive time? 2.5 days if i push it.
If you are unlucky enough to fly Jetblue into terminal C MCO let me tell you what you are in for. 1) A 20 min taxi ride in plane from the runway to terminal C gate. Your airplane will slowly turn down the air to a suffocating level as the plane is no longer flying and the doors are closed and if maintenance staff gets in the plane’s way it will take longer as the plane will wait for staff to move. 2) A 30 min wait for your bags in terminal C. 3) A 30 min walk and monorail ride with your bags, to pick up your rental car which includes a mile long train ride or if you are lucky enough to travel 10:30am to 10:30 pm you can take the elevator to the second level of terminal C with your bags to the shuttle bus, which will drive 15 min to the rental cars located in terminal A and B. The driver will unload you at first stop not telling you that your rental car is on the other side of the terminal (A or B?)And yes, the driver wants a tip.
honestly hearing that disney attendance will get back to being somewhat lower in 2023 makes my heart happy 😭 going in sept 2023 which im expecting to be super low in attendance (hopefully!)
I drive I live in fl 1 1/2 hrs south of wdw
We are taking the Amtrak to DW!
I've been driving from Philly the past two years, and the first year was great. This year, with people back to their old ways, it was awful. Driving was so stressful I decided that I'll pay more for flights next year.
I'll pay more to avoid 11 hours in a car to Disney. Several years ago we drove 13 hours to Destin Florida. It is now referred to as "The trip that broke us!" If flying is too expensive, I'll stay home.
I have only driven from Houston to Disney World for the last five years. I don't want to deal with all of the flight route expenses you mention in the video. I drive a hybrid sedan who averages 47mpg and have no problem taking my car with a hotel stop in between. I stay off Disney property and mostly eat off property bringing my own snacks into the parks.
Warning about cheaper airlines like Frontier and Spirit – buying your flight early does not guarantee that the flight will not change. I've booked three separate flights between the two airlines and every time, our take-off times jumped anywhere from two to eight hours from the original time. Also both have been cracking down more on what counts as a "personal item" and may harass you even if you just have an additional souvenir bag (ie plastic Disney bag from the gift shop). Not to say not to go for it, just know that if you have a tight timeline what to expect. Although I'd avoid Frontier – they've had lots of huge layoffs in customer service and they've been in rough waters for the last year or so.
I'll rather fly
Disney prices r ridiculous now. once a year has become once every 3-4 and only if there is anything new
I pay $700 a year for Amex platinum and in the past year haven’t even been able to get 1 business class seat, even w spending hours on trying to transfer. It’s ridiculous. In the past pre pandemic id get my boyfriend and I both business class to Europe every year.
Will you and your team please take another trip to Tokyo Disneyland?
55 per daily park ticket but only 1 park and no hopping options . Not really a fair comparison.

Hi AJ. Do u have a video for solo trips to WDW in 2023?
Me and my Mom are going the end of January. I am way to excited 😊
Does anyone know why Disney discontinued their jellybeans? I used to buy tons of them.
Besides travelling December-January to visit family relatives, I don't think I'll be traveling anytime soon in 2023. I'll just focus on finding a job and saving up.
It seems MCO is always under construction. The last time I was there it was torn up, and that was 2008.
Ah yes I’m gonna drive from the Puerto Rico to Florida…
HOW I WISH THAT WAS POSSIBLE!!!!
When searching for airline and hotels, sometimes it is best to use a VPN
Yep after 4 years we’re giving up annual passes. We won’t go back till my son has kids. It’s just poor customer service, prices, and overly controlled by rude staff
If you live more than 6 hours away I don’t recommend driving. but I definitely can see the benefits of driving versus paying a high price for a plane ticket on top of paying for a rental car and gas.
When I was a kid, we drove from Michigan to Florida all of the time because it was cheaper than flying all 4 of us. It's funny how things cycle back around.
It's about 1200 miles to ADD for us.we fly when the price is right. We drive when we have more time.
Once Disney was put in our budget it never left. I chose to be frugal in our every day life to afford more trips.
We also spend less on souviners to afford more convenient options such as Genie+.
I’ll be going with my best friend in May (for a dual first-trip and birthday trip for both of us!) and while she’ll be going from Savannah, GA, I’ll be coming from Morgantown, WV. It’s still cheaper for me to drive to Sav and pick her up, switch, then drive to Orlando. Flights are either ridiculously expensive or less convenient half the time
Can I like every time I watch it? 🤩
I wish I could. 🫶🏼😍
Greetings from Albania. 👋🏼🇦🇱
I wouldn't say that Frontier pass is a good thing. You still have to pay all fees and taxes (which add up fast) AND you can't book until the day before! While one can certainly do some mad planning and booking the day before leaving, I suspect not knowing when you can actually go home is a deal breaker for almost anyone.
I drive every year- it’s about 12 hours, but it works for me. I fear airports with my child cuz she gets a little wild. But i love the drive. Even with a rental car and gas it’s cheaper then flights and anxiety of layovers or cancelled flights.
keep up the great work! Just wanted to say thank you for all that you’ve done for your community and the effort you put into your videos. Well done, great job . Keep it up
I understand the driving versus flying thing. I'm ending a trip now, that instead of flying from Ohio to Virginia beach, we drove. It being a roughly 13 hour drive, but the air price and then even a car down here would be more than just a full rental car from ohio. And it allows us to have more control over our stuff.
I love the drive from nj, we’ve done it beofre kids. 2 times with 1 kid. Pregnant on the second trip, stopped to puke every hour lol. And then we went 1x with all 4 of us. Hopefully the trend keeps up
Yes I've seen those fares from Frontier and Spirit, but by the time I add seat fees, and carry on bag fees and getting to stay inside the cabin instead of riding outside on the wing fees I can fly Southwest for the same price and that doesn't even account for my two free checked bags that I can bring. Unless any of the other discount airlines can beat SW by 25% or more AFTER I add all the fees on I ain't interested.
I’m going to Hollywood on the 11th next month and 13th (magic kingdom) what do y’all think if it’s the weekend of MLK (close to it)
I live about 1500 miles away..I fly. The drive would keep me and my family from enjoying anything. We fly Southwest and it is great. Not that expensive and once we land, if we stay on property, transportation is included once we get to the resort. If we stay off property, we are suually saving so much over the cost of all stars motels that we can pay for Lyft to get to/from the parks.
My family has always driven to Florida from Ontario Canada. And that is still the same for our trip coming in the spring 2023. Yes it takes us a couple days but with how large our family is it much more worth it.
👍
Traveling
Can you do a video for disabled people visiting Disney World!
My kids and I will be flying to Dinsey in July. I thought about driving, but I'd need a vacation from the drive once we got to Orlando.
Take the amtrak auto train.
Okay I have to ask… where did you get the pink suitcase at the beginning when talking budget airlines?
For us international viewers, costs to fly to the US have literally doubled from pre-pandemic days. Also, the WDW vs Paris Disney disparity in costs is now around 3x for the same travel period. We’re dying to book our WDW travel but the math doesn’t add up for us unfortunately.
I've flown Frontier and Breeze many times and whether its a good option for someone really depends on their flexibility. First point is that you can get some outlandishly inexpensive flights even after paying for extras. But typically these small airlines don't respond well when the process leaves the main track. That is, bad weather, staffing issues, customer service all give them problems due to their limited resources and you as the travel have to be in a position of flexibility and able to adapt to their limited responses to these situations. If all goes smooth then its a great win catching a $29 flight from New England to Orlando. One other thing they not only tend to fly to less traveled locations they also tend to fly at off times. Most people want to fly down to Orlando in the morning giving them a full day there and return in the afternoon or evening making that last day of vacation not just a travel day but a partial vacation day. These airlines tend to have more later in the day flights to Orlando and early morning flights out.
