Calabria, Italy is the place that we are lucky enough to call home. We enjoy the shopping, and the food. We have so much fun in Italy. We live in the town of Scalea, in Calabria, Southern Italy. And, in today’s video, we take you with us, as we start with breakfast in Scalea, then head to other, neighboring towns in Calabria, for both, shopping and food. The fun of living in Calabria Italy is always present, and we are more than happy to share that fun with you. In between our shopping, and food run, we even take some time to lounge up some sun, on a crystal clear beach, in Praia A Mare, in Calabria, Italy. In today’s episode, we show you what daily life is really like, in Calabria, Italy. We show you our fun drive, from one town to another, allowing you to see just how close we are to everything that we need. And, we show that, even in our mudane daily living, life can still be so much fun, when in Italy.
We are Michael and Justin.
We are American expats, living now, full time, in beautiful Calabria Italy, in wonderful Scalea. Michael is physically disabled, with mobility issues. As we vlog Italy, we do like to show in our videos, that anyone can dare to dream of life in Italy, regardless of mobility issues. The truth is, Italy mobility can, at times, be challenging. But, never impossible. So, come along with us on our adventures in Calabria, and beyond! We experience Italy living to the very fullest. And we invite you along! Join us, as we give you this Calabria Italy tour, showing you Italy lifestyle, culture, and food.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to watch our channel. And, as always, we dare you to dream. Baci Baci!

  1. I really enjoyed the drive up to Praia A Mare…. makes me feel like I'm there. And, Justin, don't feel bad about letting the attendant fill your tank. It's a service I haven't seen in Florida since I was a kid. Do you know if there are ample charging stations for electric cars in the Scalea area?

  2. Iโ€™d hate to be redundant, but another great video! I enjoyed every second of it. I will rewatch it (on my huge TV screen) later on today. It makes it more realistic, like I am actually there. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„
BTW, I too love decorating and design, so โ€œgoing shopping โ€œ with you 2 for anything related to decorating gets my creative juices flowing, and consequently, I always get sidetracked from my daily responsibilities .๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜

  3. Your videos are so helpful! And the scenery is breath taking. Can you talk some time on buying a car in Italy and what you need to know? Does it make more sense to rent or buy?

  4. Hello guys. Can we get Ivanโ€™s contact information? I tried Chris but she hasnโ€™t responded yet. Trying to get more information on โ€œrealtorโ€ help since itโ€™s different than in California.

Love Praia a Marรฉ. Going check out properties in this area too. Super lovely.

  5. As always, fun video gentlemen! And just for reference, I filled my tank at my local Los Angeles Mobil station last week with super unleaded (for a sports sedan that requires premium fuel) and had the pleasure of paying $107โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ณ Keep up the good work! Benito.

  6. Thank you, I really like your driving videos and how you promote the local businesses. I can tell they appreciate you both as well. Take good care, Kathy

  7. Oh gosh the weather looks beautiful! I sure hope itโ€™s this nice next week when my friend Michelle and I are there looking at my (fingers crossed) piccola casa up in SDT. I love the drive, and I remember some of those hair pin curves, you did marvelous Justin! Viewer Michelle hopes to have lunch with you guys at some point! Baci baci!

  8. Thanks again for another great video. The weather was very nice today. We drove all around Scalea and went to Tokyo Sushi for lunch. It's right down the road from where we are staying. The food and service was fantastic. Thanks for the great recommendation!

We drove to Praia A Mare on Easter Monday as well. Great town.

We've also been to Diamonte and even drove to Amantea.

Amantea is great but we like Scalea better.

This is where we want to move to.

I don't blame you one bit for paying for full service at the filling station because the machine is very confusing. I struggled through it and luckily some kind person helped me.

  9. I really enjoy your road trips ๐Ÿ˜ I feel like I'm in the back seat watching lol. Great video as always.

  10. Nice video again with the beautiful blue sky and sea mixed to the green mountains and a sensation of space, not to much people but what is necessary to have a good life and fun…And how to be busy in a good way doing shopping and being welcome at the same time…what a kind thing ! Thank you very much for the video which makes me dream. Continue to dream too and waiting for the next video, mille baci a tutti due.

  11. Really enjoyed your drive and seeing that beautiful blue sky. The beach looks awesome. The cakes always get me excited I just love Italian pastries and pizza the best in my opinion. Love the design on the table and chairs they are stunning. Thanks for sharing

  12. Hey Guys! The poor little tourist get to drive Panda's. LOL I'm pretty confident that's what we are getting from our rental. ๐Ÿ™

  13. I just love your intro song! Where can I hear the whole song? I must dance to this lol!

  14. Such a pretty place and I can understand why you like the drive down there. A little Italian tipโ€ฆdid you know that Italian donโ€™t use knives and forks to eat pizza? They just pick up the slicesโ€ฆso much yummier that way! LOL ๐Ÿ˜ Itโ€™s so exciting to see the great weather arriving and seeing life getting back to some sort of โ€œnormalityโ€ againโ€ฆbring on the summer! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ•baci baci to you both! ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹

  15. You must have been reading my mind this morning. I was thinking of asking you to do a driving video. This was good. I know you showed us that town before but I think you showed us more today. Listen that town was very cute and a really good size. I must say though I could never ever get there because I was getting dizzy watching those twisty climbing roads. You are so right about it seeming like Amalfi. Italy must only know how to make one kind of road. Twisty winding dangerous small roads. Those ancestors must have been mountain goats. I was so happy after that dangerous drive that you arrived in such a cute town. I take it no one ventures out after dark on those roads unless they are suicidal. Stay safe and thanks for the ride!

  16. Funโ€ฆ.enjoyed the car ride. I agree with Michaelโ€ฆnot sure I would attempt that uphill driveway lol.

  17. Ciao Amici! We absolutely โค๏ธ Nancyโ€ฆshe is the sweetest! Dolce Atmore! ๐Ÿ’—

  18. Perhaps yor realtor friends could put anote on their door that they speak English! They might make a sale to a tourist!

  19. Hey Guys, really enjoyed driving around with you both today! Really interesting to see the local regions including little townships, landscape…. keep it coming, great stuff! thanks (Donna from New Zealand)

  20. Yes, you are a โ€œproโ€ on that windy road! Isola di Dinoโ€™s area is one of my favorite places๐Ÿค—

  21. If I may askโ€ฆโ€ฆ What the accountant charge you for his services bill paying etc. thank you keep up the good blogs

  22. Fab video, I loved seeing the drive, and loved seeing you sat on the beach Michael, Iโ€™m getting itchy feet now!! looking forward to welcoming you to out little piece of Italia. Lovely to hear you say hi ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

  23. Hey guys! Great video as usual. I like the behind the scenes of the town, getting gas all that stuff. If feels different from a lot of what is out there. Don't get me wrong I love the gorgeous views too but you both as an element of real life that you done see in other videos. I feel right at home with you and love it. Thanks for putting these up. Btw I got my daughter Beth hooked as well so she subscribed. Ciao! ~Rochelle

  24. Another great video! Really love all the stores that you show and the shopping around Scalea. Just curious for the decorative patio furniture that you showed and have similar ones, are they foldable?

  25. Hey, I have a question for you guys. so it seems that you bought property there. So what did you have to do to be able to stay more than 90 days there? My wife owns a house there and I am looking to stay longer than 90 days this summer.
