Set in one of the oldest urban areas of Taipei city and inspired its traditional colours, the team at Republic Design have created a warm and elegant space using tones of earthy reds, grays, and light oak wood. The main design idea was to reduce the walking pathways and partitions between areas in order to create a more open fluid space. Moving the TV, dining, and kitchen areas along the one wall, separating and cleverly concealing the bedroom and bathroom, created a single long pathway in the middle of the apartment. The wall also contains a number of clever, custom made storage solutions including a utility brick wall with pieces that can open and fold up as needed as well as a compact foldable dining table. A mezzanine level, which doubles as a guest room and extra storage, was added to the kitchen ceiling and is accessed via a compact foldable staircase hidden in the ceiling.

Awesome design. Love the cat, too!
Quite depressing, but good layout.
Very nice.
Since this is just for one person, would have been great putting the bathroom door inside the bedroom so the toilet is not directly facing the lounge.
First Taipei video, capture this moment
Amazing use of space!!!!
China!
KITTYYYYYYYYYYYY
This looks so dope!
I advocate for a comfortable L Sofa instead of that clinical looking chair. The space has more potential for a better design and aesthetic.
The utility brick is so innovative that I want to make my own one at home.
The cat is the real owner of this house.
where is everything for the cat? Like scratchers? Climbing shelves?
難得看到台灣,真懷念,25年台中人報到
Seriously, it’s looking way bigger than 28sqm.
With the current layout, the flat seems long and narrow. It would have been better to use the space of kitchen/dining as the bedroom and leave a cool two windows and balcony as reception area.
im obsessed with how scruffy the kitty is omg
It was done very well but I would need a small love seat or futon to watch TV . I fall asleep most of the time watching TV so that chair wouldn't be good for sleeping. But it's a really nice place for just one person.
Glad the cat loves the house
I agree with the renovation part. The only thing is usual renovations means higher cost to perform such change or the apartment cost higher.
that cat is healthy hahahaha
cat is the star of the video
So Mezzainine is used in this video instead of Loft area, right? Because generally in architecture this term means separate room, mainly in the center of the house on a separaseparate floor (level) intended according to the architecture of the building, it's usually smaller in area than the lower levels
but i think the former design was slick
Why not put a cosy sofa in front of the tv? A single plastic chair? Really?
Cat and cat dish are the best part😽
nice design bathroom in the same line has the bedroom!… nice cat old i think he walk in pain?
The apartment looks bigger than 300 sq feet. Designer did an awesome job by utilizing the space appropriately.
Me searching online for a utility brick wall to buy and finding none ;_;
캣타워가 필요합니다
Everything looks good but the living room seating seems uninviting imo…
Perfect! this is exactly my idea of minimalist living. you do have everything what you need and nothing more! I would probably use the mazane as bedroom and have one large living space downstairs, but it is perfect as it is.
3:51 you can see how the perspective/angle of the camera creates a larger area for the kitchen, and the following scene, it's smaller.
I would love to see an ep in Taiwan centered around redisgning apartments that are just one bedroom/bathroom like the kind you see around for students to rent around university areas, Ik students in theory dont need much but its quite depressing trying to look for affordable apartments as a broke student and just finding bedroom with a desk(if that) a small closet , no window(sometimes) and a bathroom, IK universities have dorms-I live in one- but sometimes you need privacy and dont want to sacrifice whatever money you make for an apartment that is basically a dorm. Ive seen student residences abroad where while the space is cramped they have a kitchenette, appropriate storage etc, its not even about having a big place, with some natural light its simply that itd be nice to be able to have a permanent place to cook my own meals(rather than having to move things from my desk so I can fit a small stove or rice cooker). just because something is functional it doesnt mean it cant be improved, just because citizens and students take these apartments it doesnt mean its what they its just that they cant afford something better
從一開始就訂閱到現在終於有台灣設計師了嗚嗚嗚好感動而且不是國家不是亂寫什麼西台灣果然我追蹤的頻道不會讓我失望❤️
Taipei, Taiwan Province. Not bad vedio.
