I come from somewhat near florence, been there plenty plenty plenty of times, passed in front of this resturant the same amout with my car and never stopped. Apparently you need an american where you can find good places to eat near you sometimes!
Damn…you made me hungry…..FEEL BETTER Steve!
Very cool episode. I appreciate the history lesson with the food it's awesome to see how dishes became what they are. Keep up the good work man!š¤
In the future, could you please clearly indicate, either in the title, description, or beginning of video that this will be a vlog-style video and one that does not involve cooking?
I clicked on the video because I was under the impression that this restaurant did something different about penne vodka that you were going to attempt to recreate at home in the US. Was a little let down when it just sort of ended.
Good entertainment. Have a speedy recovery
About to go to Florence next summer so this was a great video! Thank you
Wow
Mmm, Chicken Parm!
Hey, feel better soon!
No vaccination??!!!
While I find vodka in pasta weird as well, I once made gnocchi with grappa and cream. I really liked it, but I was the only one š And there doesn't seem to be a traditional dish that incorporates grappa into pasta. Which is also weirdā¦
Feel better soon ā¤
I make the best Penne 'all Vodka
Feel better soon.
wait.. you're not gonna make it !?!
Hope you feel better quickly, homie. š²
My friend just sent me a link to this video while I was in Florence. Immediately went and tried it. 10/10

Roaring 80's
I could almost picture myself being there. Such a great story teller and chef!! Thanks!
Wish we had found this place years ago – was in Florence before smart phones so got stuck in a lot of tourist trap places which were lousy. I did like the Italian beef sandwiches you could buy in the central market however – they were very tasty!
Hope youāre feeling better! We too just returned home from Italy with more than a fridge magnet! Covid. Better now I was kinda glad, kinda sad to see this video.
Sharing good food always sounds like a great idea, Iām hoping that the staff will be able to anticipate and prepare for the influx of tourists to their untouristy spot that your following is sure to bring to their humble establishmentā¦.and that we can get a table the next time that weāre in Italy and make our way into Florence, finally! š
This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants! LOVE their penne alla bettola. The family also has a food stall at the Mercato Central: Da Nerbone. The panino con bollito (boiled meat sandwiches) are amazing! Please try it if you have a chance!
Great video and hope you feel better soon! I've made alot of your dishes and really appreciate how detailed you. Thank you!
A speedy recuperation my man, and Always wear a mask in airports and planes!
After my trip to Padova, I completely changed my mind on cream with pasta. I had an incredible pasta dish with porcini mushrooms and speck. It's indeed very important to make sure to eat where the locals do.
I'm not planning on going on a trip any time soon so I can't wait for you to share your recipe!
hoping you get well soon
I NEED to see a recipe for those "meatballs" I could see myself eating that atleast once a week
I was blown away when I was told Penne alla Vodka was an Italian dish, when it has all the hallmarks of an Italian-American dish.
Piazza della Signoria, not di signorina š¤¦š»āāļø
That is a place I would love to go to!!! Man , That must have been the best Vodka Penne along with the other things you ordered! I got the address and before I die I'm going to Italy for this ! I'm Sicilian and love To cook and eat Italian food. Thanks for sharing! Great video

I don't like this. Really it doesn't look or sound right.
Now there will be a lot more tourists there – including me on my next trip to Florence! š Great stuff Steve.
