Welcome to Wine Tasting in Tuscany, a continued interview with Giulia Di Cosimo of Argillae Winery in Orvieto – another episode of On The Road Edition hosted by Stevie Kim. In this episode Stevie is in Orvieto at the Argillae winery. Here she continues her conversation with Giulia Di Cosimo, wine producer at the Argiallae winery and newly elected vice president of the Consorzio Tutela Vini di Orvieto (if you missed our previous video with her you can always just watch it later! https://youtu.be/ecFPnMEPEhc ). Giulia Di Cosimo tells Stevie about her background in spirits and how her family started the winery. Finally, they taste some wines together; Argillae’s three flagship white wines: Grechetto, Panata Orvieto Classico Superiore and Primo d’Anfora, a white wine fermented and aged in terracotta amphorae. The Argillae winery owes its name to the Latin word for the clay in which the terroir is rich. There are approximately 38 hectares of vineyards, situated at an altitude between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, with an east-west exposure on sunny hillsides. Its founder is Giuseppe Bonollo, who comes from an important family of distillers. Today, the winery is managed by new generations of the Bonollo family.
