That was only ONE snag btw. People in Rome, mind-blowing history of the city, and the food were frickin amazing.

  1. My advice never never travel to Europe wrong destination for vacation….popular pickpockets and scams and robberies….the best travel destination are Asia countries

  2. Why would the lady give you a fine when you didn't know that you're supposed to get ticket from outside bc you're a tourist / and you were trying to pay the bus driver? Did the bus driver not explain that so you can get off and buy from outside?

  3. The pasta is overcooked, the sauce is bad, the story is lame is hardly a BIG mistake. This generation needs to improve

  4. As a Southeast Asian, I was never a fan of Italian and French cuisine due to how under seasoned their dishes usually are, but just for the sake of enjoying the moment there I will try their food just ONCE

  5. The spaghetti look great I'm not Italian though LOL is this the pretty girl that said she had man issues and she wanted to put that on the internet the pretty ones aren't that intelligent obviously but I'm not sure that's why I'm asking all I see is a bunch of pretty that's usually what gets us in trouble

  6. When we travel we make sure to spend a bit extra to stay in a centrally located place and walked everywhereeeee. Rome is surprisingly easy to walk in! We stayed next to Vatican City and it was about a 40 minute walk to the colosseum BUT there are so many things to see on the way! And all the walking burns the calories from eating panino after panino(which, hear me out – are some of the best things to eat!!)

  7. As a native-born Italian, the fact that you mixed the sauce in with the pasta and it wasn’t just a store-bought canned sauce poured lazily on top makes me respect you far more than I do most self-proclaimed “Italian chefs” I’ve had the displeasure of eating with in America.

Edit: I should add that the best Italian food I’ve had in America was cooked by my friend’s grandmother, who is from Napoli (Naples).

  8. That sounds like a racket! They're following unsuspecting tourists around and giving them tickets. What a bunch of d*cks.

  9. So you did the American thing. You assumed it was like America and didn’t even check to see how things work in the place you’re in.

  10. So sorry it happened to you! To be fair in Italy there’s no instructions and no one tells you about it until you get a ticket from a Controllore (we call them like this) and to be honest we all know that they prey on tourists to earn this kind of money. And remember that €50 ticket it’s valid only for ‘60mins, and that’s not the end! That ticket (got on a bus or tram) doesn’t not count as valid ticket if you for example after getting it you have to get on the metro 🚇 at that point you have to buy another ticket 🎟

  11. And…trains! You have to buy your ticket and then validate it on the platform. An un-validated ticket costs you 70Euros. We didn't get caught because ours were purchased online but the people next to us did. The conductor said "Your ticket is not violated. You have to violate your ticket before you get on." So, for the rest of the trip, we reminded each other to violate our tickets.

  12. Same thing happened in Germany, if you are get caught by the bus, tram or train staff in Germany without the valid ticket, you will be charged 60 euro and you have to pay the penalty by bank transfer within 2 weeks or it will keep increasing. Such passenger is called Schwarzfahrer "black passenger"

  13. I'm so sorry about the ticket, she shouldn't have charged you that, she should have been understanding and let you go.

  14. On my first trip alone to nyc (I’m also from Cali) I took a taxi to try and go to the hostel I was going to. The fare was getting a little pricey so the guy pointed across the park to where the hostel was. I got my giant hot pink suitcases and started lugging them across the park. A man saw me and approached offering to help. I was like “oh look at this kind citizen willing to help!” We got across and to the hostel. I was like “wow thanks so much!” And the guy just stood there. I had no idea what he wanted so finally he was like “hey if you could help me out with..” and I finally got it. Money. A tip I guess. All I had were $20’s on me so I had to give him that. $20 to get my bags across like 1,000 yards. Whoops. Guess I’m grateful he didn’t rob me bc I was that naïve I would’ve been the easiest mark!
