Downtown Frederick has been an amazing place to visit for many years, always offering a large number of restaurants, bars and boutiques for the locals to visit and have something fun to do. However, in the last 5 years, Frederick County has seen a huge surge in people relocating to it and as such, more venues have started popping up. There are so many places to visit and experience that even as a local who has been in the area for many many years, I haven’t been able to visit them all! In this video, you’ll find my top restaurants in Frederick MD that I enjoy and why I love them.
Downtown Frederick
With over 55 restaurants you can’t really go wrong with planning an outing in Downtown!
1️⃣ Hootch & Banter – Great place to start for ANYONE looking to eat out. Great ambiance & even better food & drinks!
2️⃣ Nola’s Cafe – Great coffee, huge locally sourced menu with vegetarian & vegan options, and AMAZING breakfast food!
3️⃣ The Tasting Room – Fine dining with delicious options!
4️⃣ Black Hog BBQ – local bbq with smoked meats so yummy that you don’t even need the BBQ sauce!!!
5️⃣ Wags – The best burger in town if you ask me. Love the Bleu Cheeseburger and their shoestring fries are the bomb 💣
Frederick Proper
1️⃣ The Dutch’s Daughter – You don’t want to miss out on the menu and experience at Dutch’s Daughter. Their menu has tons of really amazing options and it is a very family/large group friendly restaurant. Their Easter & Mother’s Day brunches are my favorite!
2️⃣ Manalu’s Italian Restaurant – There are a few really good Italian restaurants in Frederick but Manalu’s is my family’s favorite. They offer authentic Italian meals, desserts and wine. You can’t go wrong here!
Wineries 🍷
1️⃣ Springfield Manor Winery, Distillery & Brewery – Voted the top event venue in Frederick, this winery has fantastic views, yummy foods, and something for everyone. If you don’t like wine, they offer craft beer, if you don’t like wine or beer – check out their cocktail flight! With live music, plenty of space, drinks & food – this is a great option for an afternoon out!
2️⃣ Red Heifer – Technically in Smithsburg, not Thurmont (literally the other side of the mountain) this winery is a MUST. Their wine menu offers traditional wines and fruit wines. Their food menu is full of savory items that pair well with their wines and really make the experience. With views that are to die for and some other really fun options like
