Workers at one of the largest Italian distribution companies working for Amazon went on a 16 hour strike in Brandizzo, near Turin on Wednesday, to protest against an “excessive” workload. The strike was called by the Italian Transport Worker’s Union ahead of the Black Friday rush.

“Yesterday I had 142 deliveries, it’s unsustainable, we had 110 stops, now they are 142, I don’t know if it’s for Black Friday or because Amazon sees that you can do that.” said one striking worker. Another added that, “we load the van, go out with our 100, 200 deliveries, 150 stops. It depends on the areas but still a lot of work, too much, its excessive.”

Footage shows the striking workers blocking vans from leaving the distribution warehouse and lighting torches on the picket line. Several undelivered packages and parked delivery vans were also seen at the warehouse.
