Welcome to part 2 of my trip to Italy. In part 1, I explored Rome on my own but in part 2, I met up with my entire group including @Modachrome and @Natalie Drue to experience the perfect Southern Italy Itinerary with Niche Italy!

After leaving Rome, we made a stop for lunch at Tenuta Vannulo, a buffalo mozzarella farm in the Campania region.

We continued our drive until we arrived in Calabria’s Praia a Mare, a sleepy beach resort town on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here we stayed at 13th century castle, La Rocca di Praia. This is by far one of the most unique stays I’ve ever had while traveling and it is all thanks to Niche Italy! The accordion welcome felt like such an authentic representation of Calabrian culture.

On our first dinner, we ate at Ristorante 1999 Porto di Maratea, about a 30 minute drive from the castle. We enjoyed amazing seafood and views.

The next morning we checked out the local beach, enjoyed a boat ride and had lunch in the garden at the castle. That evening, we learned how to make fusilli with local ladies in the castle’s ancient kitchen.

We drank wine and limoncello under the stars and danced under the full moon.

Stay tuned for part 3 to see the second half of the Niche Italy Southern Italy Itinerary.
