In this episode of our New Orleans travel vlog we visit Rocky & Carlo’s Restaurant & Bar for our restaurant review videos on a three year tour to experience their fantastic New Orleans Creole-Italian food. Rocky & Carlo’s is located in the Greater New Orleans suburb of Chalmette at 613 West St. Bernard Highway which is about 17 minutes and 7 miles away from the New Orleans French Quarter. Rocky & Carlo’s Restaurant & Bar is noted for its oversized portions of Sicilian dishes and New Orleans Creole food. Rocky & Carlo’s is particularly famous for its super-sized servings of baked macaroni & cheese. Rocky & Carlo’s opened up back in 1965 when Tommy Tommaseo, his brother Rocky and his brothers-in-law Carlo, Mario and Giuseppe “Joseph” Gioe opened Rocky & Carlo’s in Chalmette on St. Bernard Highway. The Tommaseos and Gioes were part of a Sicilian immigrant community that would frequently have members move back and forth between Italy and Louisiana during the mid-20th Century which created the great Creole-Siclian food we get to enjoy now at Rocky & Carlo’s. We continue our best food quest as first we feast with me through the New Orleans restaurants for the best New Orleans food at the best New Orleans restaurants. In our restaurant review videos we show you the best food the New Orleans area has inside New Orleans best restaurants. New Orleans has a lot of great food and Rocky & Carlo’s has definitely been among my New Orleans area favorite Creole-Italian restaurant options for many years that we will show you in this visit with our restaurant review videos.
