My name is Angelo Scarano…
and I’m a student of viticulture oenology and wine producer.
Our company owns thirty hectares between
Brindisi and Cellino San Marco.
Right now we are in Cellino San Marco
where in this six-acre vineyard,
we have cultivated Negroamaro.
We are talking about DOC Salice
and the farming method we used
for this vineyard is spurred cordon.
This year, at the sprouting stage,
we used NovaTec Classic fertilizer,…
thanks to this,
in comparison to other vineyards where we did not use it,…
we noticed
a very strong restart of the plant and a homogeneous bud development…

Now we are at the
fruit development stage.
Defoliation and trimming are the works we have made in this period in the vineyard.
The aim of this process is to reduce
the moisture levels in the grapes…
in order to avoid fungal
diseases like mildew
as they can be
really bad for the grapes.
thus,
by reducing the foliage…
we try to activate photosynthesis as much as possible…
in order to complete
the ripening process of the grapes.
