MSC Meraviglia is a cruise ship owned and operated by MSC Cruises, built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France, by STX France. Meraviglia is the lead ship of MSC’s new “Vista Project” vessels, the Meraviglia-class, with the MSC Bellissima following in 2019. Each vessel will have a passenger capacity of 4,500. When it entered service in June 2017, it was the 6th largest cruise ship in the world.
MSC Meraviglia is packed with extraordinary features that offer the perfect experience at sea in every season. Onboard you can enjoy outstanding, authentic dining options and out-of-this-world entertainment with new panoramic areas, an innovative ocean-view aft lounge, a two-deck “inside promenade” with a 5,000+ sq.
Launched in June 2017, the 4,500-passenger MSC Meraviglia is the largest in the fleet. In fact, it is among the largest cruise ships floating the seas today.
Some of the ship’s most impressive features include a promenade equipped with a 5,200-square-foot LED screen dome, a 108-square-foot main pool, and two Formula One virtual reality racing simulators. Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Cirque du Soleil, the ship offers twice-nightly performances six nights a week.
MSC Meraviglia also features 12 dining venues, ranging from a buffet open 20 hours a day to a teppanyaki and sushi restaurant to an authentic Italian eatery.
Equally impressive, more than 60 percent of the ship’s staterooms offer balconies. Accommodations range from Interior and Ocean View cabins to Duplex Suites and Yacht Club suites. Those who splurge on Yacht Club category cabins receive additional perks, like 24-hour butler service, access to exclusive venues like the One Pool Deck (a secluded pool and sun deck) and a private restaurant, plus unlimited access to the spa’s Thermal Area.
In October 2019, MSC Meraviglia arrives in America from Europe for sailings in Canada, New England and the Caribbean. Meraviglia is also one of four ships in the fleet that will visit MSC’s new private island, Ocean Cay, on select cruises.

The MSC Meraviglia has hit the water. The largest new cruise ship for 2017, whose name means โwonder,โ sailed its maiden voyage earlier this month from Le Havre, France, to Genoa, Italy. Italian film legend and ship godmother Sophia Lauren christened the vessel.Itโs the largest ship made by a European cruise line, Swiss-based MSC Cruises, and it can hold up to 5,714 passengers. The ship has 19 decks and 22 room categories, including new connecting cabins for families and interior studio cabins with a single bed for solo travelers.
Walk along the shipโs Galleria, and youโll stroll beneath an enormous LED dome that acts as โan atmospheric digital sky.โ That means youโll see designs and a starry night or sunrise on the 5,200-square-foot screen as you pass below..
Original Cirque du Soleil shows will be performed at the custom-made Carousel Lounge twice each night, six nights a week. This is the first Cirque at sea to be offered aboard ships.
Shows include โViaggio,โ which features a passionate artist and his muse, and โSonor,โ an โauditory adventureโ with dancers, acrobats and other characters. Shows last 40 minutes.
Passengers can book a show and drinks for $17 or a show and a three-course dinner for $39.
And thereโs plenty here for kids of all ages. An Aqua Park features water slides, splash pool and Champagne bowl. Anyone can test their mettle at the Himalayan Bridge ropes activity that takes you across the ship almost 200 feet above the water. Thereโs an amusement park and bowling alley too.
The ship has 12 restaurants, including four specialty eateries: Eataly, an American-style steakhouse called the Butcherโs Cut and a Kaito Teppanyaki sushi bar and Asian restaurant. The shipโs Marketplace Buffet is open 20 hours each day.
