It’s our first full day of exploring in Florence, Italy! We start the day with a visit to the Accademia Gallery to witness the infamous statue of David, one of Michelangelo’s masterpieces. Afterwards we head to the most famous landmark in Florence, The Duomo. We go inside to get a closer look at the intricate paintings that adorn the inner dome. We eat an incredible pizza for lunch at Berbere Pizza. They specialize in sourdough crust! We ordered the diavolo and burrata pizza and it was delicious!
After lunch we go in search of gelato and find a nice spot to eat it in the Piazza Santa Croce. We also get a peak at the statue of Dante Alighieri, Medieval author of Dante’s Inferno. The night comes to an end with a gorgeous sunset at the Piazza Michelangelo and dinner at La Spade for a Florentine staple, steak.
