WINES OF VALTELLINA
Valtellina is the biggest mountain vineyard terraced area in Italy. Here is produced the typical Nebbiolo of the Alps, but not only: Sandro Fay, in his highest vineyard, Sottocastello, has planted 4,000 vines of Chardonnay. The vines are grown at an altitude between 350 and 900 metres

We are in Sandro Fay’s Chardonnay vineyard, “Sotcastèl”, in Valtellina, at 800 m a.s.l.: it is the highest vineyard of this producer. Here the Chardonnay wines of Valtellina are produced.
