Good morning, I’m Federe Scarpello. I am a enologist with a family-owned vineyard.
The varieties we have in this vineyard are Negroamaro, Primitivo, Chardonnay, Lambrusco and Susumaniello.
The conduction is mechanized.We get great wines from these vines. We have Negroamaro.
Salice DOP is produced by Negroamaro.GPT Salento is produced by Primitivo and from Chardonnay we have the DOC Salice Chardonnay.
Regarding the products, COMPO EXPERT products for the most part of fertilization.
We use Blaukorn Classic and DuraTec 14-7-14.
At the stage of vegetative growth, we use Basfoliar Kelp to achieve an elongation
of the bunch of grapes, so as not to have problems later.
We have more elongated bunches of grapes and less problems regarding botrytis, fungi and other diseases. The tighter the bunch of grapes is, the more problems there are.
While, especially for Primitivo, we use Basfoliar CaMag to harden the cuticle and to have less problems with cracking. In fact, for some years since we have been using this product
we have found out that we have less cracking problems.
Regarding the hardened cuticle we have less problems thanks to Basfoliar CaMag.
So these are vineyards where since we started using these COMPO EXPERT products,
we found out that the germination is more uniform and therefore we are happy
to use these products.
