We LOVE italy! It’s one of our favorite places to visit. And we also LOVE naples and the surrounding areas like the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento, Capri, and Ischia. However, one of the things we have to caution all travelers when traveling to that area (and really whenever traveling abroad) is to look out for scams. In this video, we show you how taxi drivers in Naples can take advantage of you. This isn’t specific only to Naples or Italy, it is something that happens across the world. Some of you might think, what is €8? Well, if this guy does it to every single traveler he’s pocketing ~ €30-50/hour. We’re fine paying for service, and also tipping for service. But we won’t stand for someone who is blatantly lying to us just to scam us.
I know there will be plenty of people who will say, “stop picking on Naples”.. We will once we stop having issues like this in Naples. Naples is a lovely area filled with rich history and food. Unfortunately, due to our experiences in Naples, we caution all travelers when visiting the area. The main things we warn about are scams like this one and pickpockets. Naples is a very safe place to visit, as long as you look out for scams like this. This isn’t a rome travel guide, it’s a travel guide for any location.
