Today I’m back with my Zia, as she walks me through preparing the best Italian Green Beans dish – straight from the garden. Do you guys have a Zia like this too? #ItalianFamilies

Try this at home, let me know how you go and how you made it your own.

Ingredients:
– Italian Green Beans (600 grams)
– Garlic (3 Cloves)
– Chili
– Basil
– Olive Oil
– Salt

Method:
– Cut top off the beans
– ‘Beautify’ beans
– Wash beans in a bowl with salt
– Wash remaining vegetables
– Peel garlic cloves
– Chop chili and garlic (leave whole for mild taste, chop finely for intense flavour)
– Add garlic and chili to pan
– Pour extra virgin olive oil in pan
– Once garlic is golden, add beans to pan
– Add approx. 1 cup of boiling water to pan
– Add fresh basil to pan
– Add 1-2 Pinches of rock salt
– Cover and leave for 10-15 minutes
– Taste for salt
– Once beans are cooked (at least 20 mins), plate up
– Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil
