What does it mean to have a day off? For me, it means to have a day off my normal routine. Off from taking care of the children. Off from cooking. Off from cleaning. Off from working on a computer…Off I go to be treated. With delicious food, great wine, and many welcoming smiles from new faces.
In this video, I was off to EagleTree Farm Vineyards, Winery, and Restaurant in Leesburg, Viginia.
The drive was not easy. It filled with turns and hills. The road was not paved properly. Dust exploded as our car went by and a loud sound of wheels smashing on red gravel made you realize that you’re in the country – out in the wild, far far away from the city.
And it gave me JOY.
It allowed me to disconnect fully from my home routines. And allow me to embrace the newness of the scenery.
And as I took in the joy of seeing the beautiful farm, drink the locally made wine, sample handmade food from scratch by the Chef, I remind myself that Joy could be found anywhere. All I needed to do was to take time and let myself to enjoy it.
