Frappe is the typical Umbrian Carnival dessert.

Frappe is a mixture of eggs, flour, liquor and sugar and then it is fried and seasoned with icing sugar and alchermes liquor or honey

Frappe is known throughout Italy.

It’s time to cook, here below the ingredients:

โœ…400g – 14 1/4 oz flour
โœ…2 eggs
โœ…2 tbs of sugar
โœ…2 tbs of Extra virgin olive oil
โœ…4 tbs of liquor aniseed or rum
โœ…1 pinch of salt
โœ…grated lemon zest
โœ…sunflower oil to fry

โœจIn a bowl add eggs, sugar, olive oil, grated lemon zest, and start to mix until sugar is melted.
โœจIn another bowl add 3 tbs of flour and the liquor, mix and then add the liquor mixture into the eggs mixture, mix well.
โœจAdd the flour a little at a time, when the mixture is solid, pour the dough in the table, add the flour remained and knead like pasta.
โœจThe result is a soft pasta dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes
โœจRoll the pasta dough very thin, you can use a rolling pin or a pasta machine.
โœจCut the the pasta into stripes long 10 cm/4 in & large 5 cm/2 in
โœจFry in abundant sunflower olive oil for few seconds.
โœจSeason with honey or icing sugar or alchermers liquor
