Frappe is the typical Umbrian Carnival dessert.
Frappe is a mixture of eggs, flour, liquor and sugar and then it is fried and seasoned with icing sugar and alchermes liquor or honey
Frappe is known throughout Italy.
It’s time to cook, here below the ingredients:
✅400g – 14 1/4 oz flour
✅2 eggs
✅2 tbs of sugar
✅2 tbs of Extra virgin olive oil
✅4 tbs of liquor aniseed or rum
✅1 pinch of salt
✅grated lemon zest
✅sunflower oil to fry
✨In a bowl add eggs, sugar, olive oil, grated lemon zest, and start to mix until sugar is melted.
✨In another bowl add 3 tbs of flour and the liquor, mix and then add the liquor mixture into the eggs mixture, mix well.
✨Add the flour a little at a time, when the mixture is solid, pour the dough in the table, add the flour remained and knead like pasta.
✨The result is a soft pasta dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes
✨Roll the pasta dough very thin, you can use a rolling pin or a pasta machine.
✨Cut the the pasta into stripes long 10 cm/4 in & large 5 cm/2 in
✨Fry in abundant sunflower olive oil for few seconds.
✨Season with honey or icing sugar or alchermers liquor
