Come cook with us! We will show you how to use super fresh salsa as an ingredient and not just a condiment. We are making sweet italian stuffed peppers in the best, tangy red sauce you have ever had! Meet Smith and Smith Farms for local pork, Emadi Acres Farm for beautiful, sweet Italia peppers and other veggies and of course Native Roots Salsa Company for delicious and super fresh salsa. You will definitely have to sop it all up with that Easy Tiger baguette. These are all vendors at the Texas Farmers Market at Mueller in Austin, TX. Every Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Come get some yum! “Chow” Bella! NRSC Original Red, @smithandsmithfarms08 Italian Sausage, @emadi_acres_farm sweet Italian peppers, @easytigeratx baguette, and there you have it. Stuffed peppers with the best Red sauce ever.
2 containers NRSC Original Red
2 lbs Smith and Smith Italian Sausage
6 Emadi Acres sweet Italian peppers
1 can tomato paste
1 med onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic chopped
1 Tbs Oregano
1 cup white wine or dry vermouth
1 cup water
Olive oil, salt and pepper
Sauté vegetables in olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Sauté tomato paste for 2 minutes, deglaze with wine and cook for 2 minutes. Add salsa and water and cook for 10 minutes.
Stuff cleaned and deseeded peppers with sausage. Cover bottom of baking dish with sauce, place peppers in pan, cover with foil bake at 425 f for 1 hour. Serve with bread and buttah.
