‘’Our ever-evolving reserve wine list is the portal to our hidden treasures. Featuring infamous & unique wines from some of the most famous & sought after countries including; France, Spain, Italy & America. Curating this book has been a personal project for me, providing the opportunity to delve into my little black book of contacts & bring the latest discoveries & legendary greats to Jacques of Knowle.
Some of my favourites from the collection are from Bordeaux in the south-west of France. Featuring wines from exclusive regions such as Margaux, St Julien, Pomerol & St. Emilion. These red wines are medium to full bodied with rich flavours of cassis, plum & cherry leading to spicy oaky notes derived from traditional barrel ageing. If I had to choose one, my absolute ‘once in a lifetime wine’ would be the ‘Chateau Margaux, 2008’. It’s the epitome of claret, in my opinion.
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, If you are looking for a truly special bottle of red from the Reserve List, I would recommend the Beringer, Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley. This bold and well-structured wine would work perfectly with the Chateaubriand steak to share.’
