An Italian celebrity chef has successfully sued a newspaper that criticised his risotto served at a gala dinner in 2016.

Carlo Cracco, 56, a former choose on Italy’s Masterchef, launched authorized motion towards the editor of La Cronaca di Verona, Achille Ottaviani, for his scathing review.

The chef, whose restaurant had two Michelin stars, served up a risotto with tomato, lemon, cumin and braised wagyu beef on the gala.

He was catering for 400 visitors on the fiftieth anniversary of town’s annual wine pageant Vinitaly.

But Ottaviani wrote after the dinner that many diners left disenchanted and headed to close by kebab outlets, the main focus of Cracco’s authorized criticism, The Times reported.

The editor stated: ‘Insipid risotto, robust meat, greens that do not match, besides within the folly of a non-existent culinary grandeur.

‘Better the San Carlo crisps that Cracco promotes on TV.’
