In this episode we begin an Amaro Master Class. Amaro is a beverage class that is gaining a lot of momentum so I figured doing an amaro tasting of what I have on hand would be helpful.
We start with a few Amari from Italy. My other favorite Italian Amari that are great starting points in the category are below:
– Amaro Nonino – whiskey like when neat, excellent in cocktails
– Averna – delicious sweet coffee notes, perfect in a Black Manhattan
– Amaro Montenegro – lighter in style, very versatile for cocktails
– Amaro Ciociaro – one of my favorite to drink neat
