Prague is known for an endless number of restaurants with great food as well as famous Czech beer. I head out to several different restaurants throughout Prague to try some great Czech cuisine (including a vegan-friendly option) as well as some great international foods and street food.
1. Malostranska Beseda – Located in the Lesser Town of Prague (just west of the Charles Bridge) is Malostranska Beseda which is a great spot for delicious Czech food. I head inside to enjoy some tasty goulash.
2. Cafe Louvre – Located a few blocks from the National Theatre in New Town, Cafe Louvre is another great spot for Czech food where I get to enjoy delicious chicken breast with a tasty cream sauce along with spatzle as well as some coleslaw.
3. Vegan’s Prague – Located in the Lesser Town, Vegan’s Prague is another place where you can get vegan-friendly Czech food. I head inside to get a vegan alternative to svickova (usually made from beef) which was quite tasty.
4. Indian Jewel – Located in the Old Town, Indian Jewel has been rated the #1 Indian restaurant in all of Prague (perhaps even all of the Czech Republic). I head inside to taste some of the best chicken tikka masala I have ever had.
5. Alriso Risotteria Italiana – Located in the Old Town, Alriso Risotteria Italiana is a great Italian restaurant where everything is gluten free (great for anyone with celiac disease who would love to have some pasta). I head inside to enjoy some tasty squid ink pasta with calamari.
While filming this restaurant tour I also get to sample some great street food from halusky to trdlenik.
Honorable Mention:
1. Havelska Koruna – Located in the Old Town about a couple blocks away from Wenceslas Square and Na Prikope, Havelska Koruna is a cafeteria where you can get a huge selection of Czech classics. I head there to enjoy the regular svickova (non-vegan) as well as get a Pilsner, one of the famous Czech beers.
