Vermouth is a wine that is fortified with a neutral spirit and sweetened with sugar or caramel and then flavored with herbs & stuff (aromatized).
All vermouth is fortified wine but all fortified wine is not Vermouth…how about that!
Vermouths from Torino in Italy remain my favorite as they are the most well balanced and have the most history behind them.
