If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know how much I love slow cooker recipes. Slow cookers are very convenient and the recipes are usually so easy to make – this ragù recipe is a perfect example. Ragu, in Italian cuisine, is a meat-based sauce that’s usually served with pasta. But I think you can always serve it with other types of carbs if you prefer.

One of the key flavours in this dish is the fennel. I love using it in my cooking, especially at this time of year, it just has a real autumnal quality to it. If you’ve never used it, you’ll easily be able to get a jar down at your local supermarket.

Calorie wise, this meal is pretty good! It comes in at just around 300kcal per portion, making it a delicious high-protein meal that you shouldn’t miss!
