Cinque Terre , is a string of century old villages in the rugged Italian Riviera coastline.
Cinque Terre offers you a stunning coastline scenery. It has 5 fishing villages that is inscribed by UNESCO Mankind’s Old Heritage. Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, people had carefully built terraces to cultivate grapes and olives on the rugged, steep landscapes right up the cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean Sea.
You can swim in the beautiful blue water of Cinque Terre from May until October..
The 5 Towns are Monterosso , Vernazza, Corniglia,Manarola and Riomaggiore.
Riomaggiore is the largst of the 5 and acts as its unofficial headquarter.It has a botanical garden and a bird watching center.
Manarola is famous for its sweet Sciacchetra wine. It has also medieval relics, and the oldest village of the 5.
Corniglia is a quite middle village that sits atop a 330 feet high promontory surrounded by vineyards. It is the only Cinque Terre settlement with no direct sea access.
Vernazza has a small harbor and the only secure landing point to the Cinque Terra coast guards. It has a train station and little cafes.
Monterosso , is the village known for its lemon trees and anchovies.
There are many ways to explore Cinque Terre but to appreciate Cinque Terre’s coastline it is much better to choose for a boat ride just like what we did when we went to Cinque Terre. There are regular means of transport In Cinque Terre by boat, bus or train .
