Hong Kong hunnies! This was my first time coming here and it turned out to be one of my most favourite places that I’ve ever travelled to. It reminded me of Auckland in a lot of ways because you’d walk down the street and see every race go past and that shit makes me cream my pants. Just like Auckland, Hong Kong’s breakfast game is so on like Donkey Kong, it goes off.
We linked up with this famous guy called Simon @yintertainment and he took me to his favourite brekkie spot, Lan Fong Yuen and it was everything I wanted and more. Everything was beige because there’s no better way to start the day. It was like white people food but so much more and everything was really simple that it was almost impossible for it to not taste delish. Like how can you talk shit about deep fried white bread, drenched in butter and maple syrup? Also, the egg sandos in Japan could not fucking touch the ones in Hong Kong, try one and you will say the exact same.
While we were clogging our arteries, we coincidentally bumped into one of Simon’s mates in the restaurant which buzzed me out. That never happens in Seoul or Tokyo because it’s so overpopulated which is why infidelity is so easy and common there. But Simon said that in Hong Kong, casually bumping into mates is a normal thing which was another very Auckland thing. Something that wasn’t Auckland-like in the slightest was the dinner I had that evening. I went to an Italian restaurant expecting pasta, but I saw “roasted pigeon” and then got a flash back of when Josh Emett told me that pigeon is delicious. If the white man can eat it, so can I and as always, Josh Emett was right.
