The Massolino family’s history as winegrowers stretches back more than a century. A family owned winery, from the wonderful UNESCO world heritage tapestry of vineyards in Italy’s ‘the Langhe’. The village of Serralunga d’Alba, was home to Giovanni Massolino in the late 19th century, when the estate was founded. Such a deep family heritage is richly intertwined with that of the whole region of ‘Barolo’. With some of the most premium, priceless parcels of land, famous for Margheria, Parafada and the legendary vineyard Vigna Rionda, the wines are classic but inimitable. Massolino have a very distinct style that reflects their vineyards with a pure expression, especially that of Nebbiolo. A gift of nature.

The thing about ‘Langhe’ Nebbiolo, typically, is that of a wine intended to be approachable for Nebbiolo. You’re meant to drink your ‘Langhe’ while the ‘Barolo’ is maturing in the cellar. But, don’t be fooled. This Nebbiolo is no shrinking violet. Although considered ‘baby Barolo’, it’s a wonderfully complex wine…Nobody puts this baby in the corner!

Lovely classic Nebbiolo colour, with a slightly orange hue. Instantly lifted and appealing yet deceptively complex. Charming and delicate with dried rose, orange rind and cinnamon spice, its entry is a burst of energy, bright red cherries race alongside sturdiness from a wave of fine but building tannins. Layered. Citrus tangy acidity refocuses and cleans a very lengthy wine.
