My mission to master the culinary arts🧑🏻🍳 in the heart of Italy🇮🇹 brings me face-to-face with my biggest challenge in the kitchen yet! The one and the only Kathy Savas will put my newfound culinary skills to the test in a classic head-to-head Italian cook-off: Mother vs. Son style💥! Over the past month, my culinary master for the Italian chapter of Month in the Making, Jens, has prepared for this moment by exposing me to the delicious and vibrant world of Italian cuisine, its flavor, and its artisanry that makes it world-renowned. After diving deep into the worlds of rare prosciutto🥩, biodynamic farming🌾, olive oil🫒, pasta🍝, and all the other flavor-filled worlds of Italy, I am confident I can face off successfully against the woman who has dominated the family kitchen back home in New Jersey my entire life! Which Savas will emerge as the superior chef? Will the student become the master? It is far from bitter-sweet, this goodbye…in fact, it’s the most delicious one yet. The past month has opened my eyes to the world of food beyond flavor. The stories, culture, and heritage that surround each dish provide me with a whole new palate of appreciation when it comes to the food on my plate!
