Baglio Florio: a name and a product which evoke one of the most typical and ancient buildings of Sicily: a ‘baglio’, which is a fortified farm.
This wonderful Marsala Vergine Superiore Riserva, is produced from grillo grapes cultivated in Birgi and Spagnola districts, facing the sea near the beaches. The beautiful coastal area north from Marsala has rainy winters and torrid summers whipped by hot African winds. This type of cultivation is typical of Marsala, with a density of at least 5,000 vines per hectare.
Baglio Florio is an elegant marsala, which contains the characteristics of intensity and freshness of Grillo, amplified and made harmonious by ten years of aging in Florio’s cellars.
Try it with a crouton with roe and lime zest.
