CNN host Chris Cuomo invited an Italian restaurant owner that opposes the COVID vaccine to defend the practice on Wednesday’s broadcast of “Cuomo Prime Time” on the network.
Tony Roman, the owner of Basilico’s in Huntington Beach, Cal., told Cuomo “this is not an anti-vaccine stand, it’s a pro-freedom stand.”
Cuomo admonished the owner and told him he’s an idiot that “plays into a stereotype” of Italian-Americans. Roman told the CNN host that if this is about public health, “maybe we should ask your brother about protecting people.”
“You’re not going to drag me down the hole, talking about the science. This is not about whether I’m pro-vaccine or not. I’m pro-freedom, anti-tyranny, OK? And maybe the conversation should really be between me and your brother,” Roman told Cuomo.
