Finding healthy food when traveling doesn’t have to be difficult if you know what you are looking for. Restaurants for tourists will be everywhere of course. If you find yourself in one of them skim the menu and look for “contorno” or “contorni” where you will most likely find lovely vegetable side dishes. Salads in Italy are amazing – especially when made with high nutrient arugula and their wonderfully fresh and local pomodori (small red tomatoes.)
