Miss Maria Emmerich does it again with Protein Lasagna! Try it out and see what you think!
My version of Lasagna:
2 Pounds Ground beef
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Parsley
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Rosemary
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
1/8 tsp Thyme
1/8 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
1 1/2-3 cups Marinara Sauce
16 oz Ricotta Cheese
1 Egg
1/2 tsp Salt
Cheese!
Deli meat (About 16 oz)
Mix ground beef, seasonings and marinara sauce together in a bowl, set aside. Mix Ricotta cheese, egg and salt together, set aside. Pour some Marinara in the bottom of a cake pan, spread out to prevent the “noodles” from sticking. Line the bottom of the pan with meat slices. Top with one half of the meat mixture, one half of the ricotta mixture, cheese and parmesan. Repeat again. Top with one final layer of deli meat, cover with cheese and parmesan. Cover with foil (Don’t let it touch the cheese or it’ll stick!) Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for ANOTHER 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let sit for at least 15 minutes to “set”. Stay tuned for my Cheddar by the Bay Biscuits next week!
