How To Make DELICIOUS And SIMPLE Italian Sausage Sammies! This is the dish among dishes that really says “Summer Time” to me. I ate this all the time growing up and it’s such a delicious, satisfying meal with so many good memories attached to it that it almost brings a tear to my eye 🙂

Mise En Place
1 pack Italian sausage
1 large onion
2 bell peppers
4 cloves garlic
Salt
Pepper
Balsamic Vinegar
Avocado oil
Hoagie olls (a little crusty on the outside and soft inside is best)
RECIPE
Preheat grill on high for at least 10 minutes
-Peel and slice onion
-Cut bell peppers in half, clean out seeds and julienne cut, cutting the julienne pieces in half
-Peel garlic and mince
-Clean and oil your grill (turn heat to low first)
-Turn heat to high and place sausages on grill
-In a large sautee pan, heat 2-3 tbsp of oil on high heat for about 1 minute
-add veggies to pan and toss with 2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of pepper
-Once sausage has cooked on high for 5 minutes, turn and cook the second side for another 5 minutes
-Turn grill heat down to low, flip sausage, and cook covered for 5 minutes per side 1 more time
-For veggies, once they are starting to carmelize (they will start to look browned or even have a bit of char on them), turn heat down to medium low and add another 1-2 tbsp of oil to the pan
-Add garlic and let sit in the oil for 30-60 seconds
-Add 2 splashes of balsamic vinegar to the pan and toss
-Cook veggies for another minute and then remove from heat
-Cut a hoagie roll lengthwise and add veggies and sausage to the roll (in that order)
-Add any condiments desired
-Crack a Corona with a lime or pour a glass of crisp white wine (Verdelho, Pino Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, etc) and enjoy!
