– a handful of basil leaves, sliced thinly
– 3 different colour bell peppers (green, red, yellow), deseeded, sliced
– 5 large ripe, fresh tomatoes, chopped (can be canned as well)
– 2-3 tbsp olive oil
– 1 tsp salt
– ½ tsp black pepper
– 1 tbsp sugar
– 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
– 1 ½ tbsp cooking wine
– 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
– a handful of sliced black olives for garnish (optional)
– a few slices of toasted garlic bread (optional)
