Lake Garda, in northern Italy, is known for its crystal clear water. At the south end, the town of Sirmione is dominated by the Rocca Scaligera, a fortress with harbor views. The nearby Grotte di Catullo archaeological site includes a Roman villa.
Garda Town is situated on a magnificent bay surrounded by lush green hills. Being located halfway up the eastern shore, makes it simply perfect for exploring the mountainous northern shores of the lake as well as the southern lake towns and the wine regions to the east. The incredible Madonna della Corona is not far away either.
Sirmione is a resort town on the southern bank of Lake Garda, in northern Italy. It’s known for its thermal baths and Rocca Scaligera, a medieval castle overlooking the lake. Set at the tip of a peninsula, the Archaeological Site of Grotte di Catullo encompasses a Roman villa, a museum and olive trees. Just below the ruins is the rocky Jamaica Beach.
