In the latest installment of Bozzelli’s TV, we meet with Heather Shapiro, brand ambassador of the rockstar brand–House of Smith Winery. The title of the show is “Jet City Wine” but we toyed with a different title (watch to learn what) when Heather invited us out to Seattle aka Jet City. But there’s more to the genesis (rockband pun!) of the title.
The founder of House of Smith Winery is Charles Smith who is a bonafide rockstar who managed rock bands across Europe. Since his foray into the wine game he has been defying convention with an irreverent attitude like most rockers. As we learn in the show, he has almost single handedly put Washington State on the map of the wine world, he made merlot great again, he put a crown cap on his sparkling wine and the artwork on his wine labels rivals anything coming out of the art departments of Madison Avenue marketing agencies. But we just had to go with “Jet City Wine” after Mike revealed that the first concert he ever went to as a kid was a Queensryche concert when their hit “Jet City Woman” was crushing the charts. As always this is another must-watch episode where we taste seven different wines, three of which are odes to legendary Italian wine making which naturally had Mike in the lotus pose, from House of Smith and all of them are worth ordering by the case. Of course if you just want a bottle or two with your breakfast we are happy to help with that too.
