This Spaghetti Bolognese recipe is very easy to follow and will make you feel like you are sitting around an Italian dinner table. Should you prefer to use other pasta shapes, such as penne or fusilli, go for it, as Bolognese Sauce will not judge you, but it will hug any pasta shape you chose.
This Bolognese Sauce Recipe uses lean minced beef, very little oil, and no stock cube, but real vegetables, to ensure the taste is all there, but the extra calories, salt and fats aren’t. Additionally, you will see how I used wholemeal pasta, which I find extremely tasty and is very filling too!
I have used this recipe many times while losing over 100lbs and it shows how tasty meals are something that can be achieved, also when counting calories!

โ๏ธ1 Tbsp Olive Oil
โ๏ธ1 Small Carrot
โ๏ธ1 Onion any colour
โ๏ธ1 Celery Stick
โ๏ธ10 g Garlic (1/2 oz)
โ๏ธ500 g Minced Beef 5% Fat (1.1 lbs or 18 oz)
โ๏ธยฝ tsp Dry Parsley
โ๏ธ15 g Tomato Puree (1/2 oz)
โ๏ธ1 Tin Chopped Tomato in Juice (400g – 0.9 lbs – 14 oz)
โ๏ธยผ tsp sugar (Optional: Needed if tomatoes are very acidic)
โ๏ธBlack Pepper and Salt to Taste
โ๏ธ420 g Dry Spaghetti (0.9 lbs – 15 oz)
โ๏ธ100 ml Red Wine (Optional: I used Cabernet Sauvignon) 3.5 oz
