Despite the drizzle we were desperate to go to one of our favorite little restaurants in Tuscany- A Casa Mia at Montefiridolfi.
Currently in most Italian restaurants, dining is allowed only outside.
It’s a lovely little place with a special story. There’s a stone plaque inside which encapsulates the story and says that the owner- Maurizio’s father was delighted when he heard that Maurizio was going to open a restaurant.
You’ll find quaint little mismatching vintage plates and cutlery. If you need another fork Maurizio will indicate to you to pull open the drawer at your table.
Maurizio restored the furniture himself.
The menu always comes with local Chianti wine.
Go for his typical simple Tuscan dishes. The generous antipasti is a must.

Montefiridolfi is in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside in a tiny hamlet. If you are looking for an authentic taste of Tuscany then it’s a great little place.
