STEAK PIZZAIOLA
Sirloin Steak – 3 LB
Garlic – 3 Cloves, Minced
Bell Pepper – 3, Sliced
Extra Virgin Olive Oil – 3 TBSP
Onion – 1 Large, Sliced
Crushed Tomatoes – 1 Can
Dried Oregano – 2 TSP
Dried Italian Seasoning – 1 – 2 TSPS
Red Wine – 1 Cup
Salt & Pepper
White Mushrooms – Sliced, 2 Cups
Fresh Mozzarella
Total cooking time 45 minutes
Sprinkle Steak on both sides with salt & pepper
Heat Olive Oil in large skillet on stove top, brown steak on both sides
Take steak out and set aside
Add garlic and onions to the skillet, sauté until just getting translucent, add bell peppers, season with salt, pepper, Italian Seasoning and oregano, cook about 5 minutes then add mushrooms. Cook until all are tender about 10 additional minutes
Add tomatoes and red wine, bring to a boil, and then add steak back in.
Cook 5 to 10 more minutes, do not overcook the steak! Transfer the steak back to the plate, let sit while vegetables continue to cook down and the sauce thickens. Let mozzarella melt on top the last 2 – 3 minutes.
Slice the steak and serve with the sauce.
