Everyone loves a good Tuscan red, but how much do you know about the history of the wines and vineyards of Tuscany? Come find out at this fascinating talk.
Historian and oenophile Peter Fischer will explain how an impressive process of modernization in winemaking has led to a new breed of quality wines called the Super Tuscans.
Peter Fischer received his PhD in History and Civilization from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. He is currently teaching at Syracuse University in Florence, the International Studies institute in Florence, and the European Academic Program of the University of California in Florence. His interests are European Political History and Food History, with a special focus on the Mediterranean and Italy.
