This recipe has two parts. Part 1 is for the cookie dough and Part 2 is for the glaze.
part 1
Taralli dough
Ingredients
5 Eggs
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
Pinch of Salt
Zest of 2 Lemons
2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
1 packet of Yeast (7 grams)
4 cups of All Purpose Flour
extra flour to work
Whisk together eggs, sugar, oil, salt.
Then add zest and vanilla
Whisk
In a separate bowl mix together flour and yeast
Add in your flour mixture little by little. Mix with paddle attachment till it creates a dough. Remove and work with hands a little, till smooth. (add some flour to work.)
Cover let sit in warm bowl for 10 minutes.
Preheat oven 350ยบ
When dough is ready, shape into long narrow loaf. Cut into 1 inch pieces.
Roll out each piece (keep narrow). Oil one side, fold, pinch ends to make ring.
Place on a parchment lined pan. Repeat with all pieces.
Bake for 15 minutes, then flip each one over and bake for another 15 minutes.
Part 2
The Glaze
ingredients
1 and 1/3 cup Powder Sugar
2 tablespoons Butter (melted)
1 Lemon (the juice)
2 tablespoons Water
Whisk together the glaze ingredients.
Dip the top of each cooled cookie in the glaze. Then add sprinkles before glaze drys.
