Tampa, Florida’s Italian History through Food Experience w/ Kimberly McAvoy of Tampa Bay Food Tours
Italians have been an integral piece of Tampa/Ybor City growth since its earliest days, drawn at first to the available work in “Cigar City”, they brought their families, their culture, and (thank goodness) their food. Today, Florida is one of the several US states with concentrated Italian-American populations, and Tampa has greatly benefited from their multigenerational influence. On this food and history experience, Kimberly will help us understand Italian roots in Tampa, and why it is as much a destination for Italian cuisine as it is for beaches, blue water, and good living. Pour a glass of wine, whip up some pasta, and join us for some delicious bites. Mangia!
