In 1978 Katrina and Alfredo Pizzini began growing grapes in Victoria’s King Valley region with a commitment to their Italian heritage. Now firmly established in the region for over 40 years, initially most of the vineyards were planted to Riesling, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon which was sold on to surrounding wineries. In the 1990’s the decision was made to focus on native Italian varieties and in 1994 the first Pizzini wine was bottled.
We’ve delved into the cellar to put together a mixed six packs of vintages next to their modern counterparts.
