The region of Tuscany has been at the forefront for the last fifty years while Italy’s wine culture has transformed from a focus on quantity to a focus on quality. This tasting will explore some of the most unique and value orientated red wines we have found off the beaten path in Tuscany. From a delicious medium bodied red made from the overlooked Ciliegiolo grape, to classic Sangiovese from a traditional Chianti producer, to a modern Cabernet/Merlot/Sangiovese blend, we will explore the similarities and differences between the red wines of this historic, yet envelope pushing wine region.
